The marble that was used for this jewelry box was taken from the east steps of the House wing, installed between 1863 and 1865.
The U.S. Capitol Historical Society has been given permission to use a portion of the removed marble to create this keepsake. Dimensions are 4 1/2 X 1 3/4.
